MY NEW ANGEL

Brought home a new baby this weekend - her name is ANYA (sounds like on-yuh) - which means GRACE in Russian - she is a purebreed Siberian Husky - she is 10 months old - stole my heart and is my new hiking/camping buddy - enjoy the pics!

2011 - from the Norfolk Botanical Gardens (Virginia) - this wonderful video cam of a bald eagle nest is one of the best I have ever seen - they also have links to previous cams on the eagles - you can watch the babies hatch and grow to full grown adults each year - this year they have 3 adorable fuzzy babies!

MY FIRST SHOWSHOE HIKE

Rocky Mountain National Park - with Hiking Group

02-19-2011 - First Snowshoe Hike

My first snowshoe hike turned out fabulous - went with the Longmont Hiking Group - we went to Rocky Mountain National Park, met at Hollowell Park and hiked up towards Bierstadt Lake - I didn't make it to the Lake, but I made it to Millner Pass - the views were breathtaking and, even though I didn't make it the entire 6 miles roundtrip, I did make it 4 miles roundtrip - my muscles sure do ache today - it was WORTH IT!

My First Snowshoe Hike

I AM SOOOO EXCITED!  Going on my first snowshoe hike tomorrow, February 19, 2011 - at Rocky Mountain National Park - with the Longmont Hiking Group - going to Hollowell Park and hike to Bierstadt Lake - not sure if I can make it all the way - 6 miles roundtrip - but I will go as far as I can.

I have lived in Colorado 6 years and this is the first time for me to go snowshoeing - been a long time coming!
